Makeup Application

RECENTLY I WAS ASKED "HOW DO YOU PUT ON MAKEUP?" AT FIRST I DIDNT KNOW WHAT EXACTLY THAT MEANT, BUT THEN I WAS EXPLAINED THAT GIRLS WANTED TO KNOW THE ORDER TO PUT THEIR MAKEUP ON. I THINK PERSONALLY EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN WAY, BUT THROUGH TRIAL AND ERROR I HAVE FOUND A WAY TO PUT ON MY MAKEUP TO MAKE IT EASIER.
1ST
FOUNDATION
CURRENTLY I AM USING COVERGIRL 3IN1 WITH MY SIGMA F80 BRUSH
2ND
EYES/EYESHADOW
FOR EYESHADOW YOU WANT TO APPLY YOUR CREASE COLOR FIRST, THEN YOUR LID COLOR. I SUGGEST THIS WAY BECAUSE IT REALLY MAKES THE EYESHADOW BLEND AND LOOK FLAWLESS. THE BRUSHES I USE FOR MY EYESHADOW APPLICATION ARE THE SIGMA E25, E35, AND E45. I WILL ALSO USE A REAL TECHNIQUES SHADING BRUSH AS WELL. THEN I WILL APPLY MY EYELINER.

3RD
CONCEALER/HIGHLIGHT
RIGHT NOW I AM USING THE MAC PRO-LONG WEAR, AND ITS REALLY MY FAVORITE AND WORKS REALLY WELL, BY NOT SETTLING INTO FINE LINES THAT APPEAR UNDER YOUR EYES.

4TH
CONTOUR
IF YOU ARE A FAN OF CONTOURING AND HIGHLIGHT THIS IS WHEN I WOULD APPLY IT. RIGHT NOW I AM USING THE MAC MINERALIZE SKIN FINISH IN DEEP DARK.
5TH
POWDER
YOU WANT TO SET YOUR FOUNDATION AND CONCEALER WITH A POWER SO THAT IT STAYS ALL DAY. AND RIGHT NOW I AM USING THE MAC STUDIO FIX IN C7. AND THIS IS THE PRESSED POWDER.

LASTLY, ILL GO BACK AND TOUCH UP MY EYESHADOW TO REALLY INTENSIFY ANYTHING THAT I WANT TO. ESPECIALLY WHEN WEARING LASHES THE EYESHADOW NEEDS TO BE DARKENED BECAUSE EYELASHES BRING SO MUCH VAVOOM TO THE EYE, THAT YOU WANT THE EYESHADOW TO MATCH.

NOW BY NO MEANS DO YOU HAVE TO PUT YOUR MAKEUP ON THIS WAY, ITS JUST THE WAY THAT I DO IT AND IT REALLY WORKS OUT FOR ME BECAUSE WITH EVERY STEP I CAN GO BACK AND FIX WHATEVER I NEED TO. BUT THERE ARE SOME DAYS WHERE I DONT WEAR THIS MUCH MAKEUP AND JUST PUT MY MAKEUP ON HOWEVER I FEEL LIKE IT. ITS JUST REALLY UP TO YOU AND WHAT YOU ARE MOST COMFORTABLE WITH.

IF YOU GUYS WANT ME TO DO A BLOG POST ABOUT THE TYPES OF BRUSHES I USE FOR MY MAKEUP APPLICATION PLEASE LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS. THANK YOU

DRUG STORE PICK-UP

So I recently went to the drugstore to pick up some stuff because I had run out of foundation and I really wanted to try a new liquid liner. Drug store foundation is not quite the same to high-end foundation, thats without saying, but I have found one that I actually enjoy. I usually use MAC studio fix, but have recently been using the Covergirl 3-in-1 foundation. Now they say this foundation works as a primer, concealer, and foundation. I'm not sure about all of those things, but it is a really great foundation for anyone who has combination to oily skin. I stay matte throughout the day when I am wearing this foundation and I really enjoy that about it. Also it has a medium to full coverage , which is something that I also really enjoy.

As you can see, I am in the color tawny and it matches my body pretty well. Remember you always want to match your foundation to your body, because our face is most likely always going to be lighter than our body because of all the cleaning we may do to keep our skin clear. You can pick this item up in just about any drugstore. Heres a link just in case you cant find it. SO girls, and guys ;) if you were debating about trying a drugstore foundation I would highly recommend this one for you :)

SO! hello everyone.

I have been wanting to create a blog for sometime now, and I thought now was the time to do it. With recently graduating from college, things haven't really gone as they were planned. Thinking that I would get a job 2-3 months after, turned into 6 months post graduation and still NO JOB! Please understand I do have a job, but it has nothing to do with the whole reason why I even went to college. My job now was just a job you know that you do while you're in college until you graduate and then you move onto bigger and better things. But I must say that I really do LOVE my job, I have been there for 3 years and there is not a thing I would change about it. Which leads me you to a little introduction as to why I started this blog.

I have really been into fashion and makeup. I mean as a little girl I thought I would go to a fashion institute and do something with fashion, just like alot of little girls dream of right? But of course things changed and I decided to go to school for psychology, and it has been one of the best things I have done, but somehow I always go back to my heart, and its makeup and fashion. So this blog is going to be like my get away from all things, because fashion and makeup are things that I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVE and I feel that I can help people out (hint: the psychology major in me). I know alot of people are fashionistas already themselves, but I figured I wanted to be a fashionista who was a little bit more outspoken and wanted to share her tips with her peers.

I want to share with everyone my tips and tricks to things dealing with makeup, clothes, relationships, etc. I'm no where near an expert, just a girl whose willing to put things out there to help people out in any way they want to take it. SO, I hope that this is a long relationship because I am excited for the future.

 The PERFECT blush palette

If you haven't heard of bHcosmetics, then I want to introduce it to you. Basically its a really great company with amazing quality items for SUPER cheap. They have everything from eyes, lips, face, brushes, and nails. This post is about their 10 color blush palette. From the pictures above you can see that the palette is thin and light weight, which is PERFECT for traveling. I know I really hated going on a trip and then I had to put a million different things in my travel makeup bag because I wasn't sure which blush was going to go with whatever look I was doing for the day. But ever since I go the bHcosmetics blush palette, my problems are solved!! All the colors in the palette are really great for every skin tone.

The palette can be used all throughout the year. For winter it has the more darker colors, and for summer it has the bright pinks and peaches that we all love!

The best part about bHcosmetics are their prices. This palette right now only costs$10.95. I mean if you ask me that beats any MAC blush price right now. Don't get me wrong I love my MAC, just as any makeup lover should, but these blushes are a great investment for the traveling girl or whoever wants to try something new!

Urban Decay VICE 2
For Christmas I got the urban decay vice 2 palette and it hasn't been something that I have heard that much about, but it really is a beautiful palette. Once again Urban Decay gives us great pigmentation and a variety of colors to choose from.
Starting from the left, in the pictures below the colors are listed:
from top to bottom: Smokeout, Prank, Radar, Dope
Smokeout, Prank and Dope are all creamy shades with a sheen to them, while Prank has more glitter in it.
from top to bottom: Lovesick, Madness, Damaged, Toxic
Madness, Damaged and Toxic all have a sheen to them, while Lovesick is more of a glittery consistency.
from top to bottom: Shellshock, Strike, VooDoo, Habit
Shellshock and Strike are really beautiful silver and gold colors. With one swipe you get the color right out of the palette, very very pigmented with a metallic sheen. VooDoo had a glitter consistency, and Habit is a matte shade.
From right to left: Coax, Stash, Betrayal, Ambush
These are all sheen shades, once again all so pigmented with one swipe of the finger you get the color right from the palette.
from right to left: X-Rated, Poison, Derailed, Rewind
Last but certainly not least, X-Rated and Derailed are in the sheen family, Poison is in the glitter family, and Rewind is our matte.
Once again this wasn't a palette that I would have bought, but because I got it for Christmas its something that I catch myself reaching for more and more. The colors are great and blend great. I would highly recommend this palette to anyone who may want to step out of their comfort zone and try some new colors.

NAKED 3 PALETTE

Recently the Naked 3 palette was released, and has gotten alot of hype. Is the hype actually worth the palette? I mean it is $52.00 USD. Well the answer is YES IT IS WORTH THE HYPE,GET YOUR HANDS ON THIS PALETTE AS SOON AS YOU CAN! I dont have any of the other palettes because I personally think that they are pretty basic colors that I can get from any other makeup, but the naked 3 is a different story. The colors are absolutely beautiful and so pigmented! I would say the overall look of the palette are rosey golden colors, and being a lover of the more neutrals shades, this palette is just great. There are so many looks you can achieve with this palette from everyday, date night , to a night on the town with the girls.

The colors starting from the left are Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, and Blackheart.
Here you can see the colors are Blackheart, Darkside, Mugshot, Factory, Liar, Nooner, Trick, Buzz, Limit, Burnout, Dust, and Strange. There is great pigmentation with these shades, but I wouldnt expect anything less with urban decay eyeshadows. As you can see I am on the tanner side and you are still able to get the true color from these shades. The only shade that I get major fall out is from Trick. I am really loving this palette so far and its a great investment !! SO GO GET IT !
